A restored heritage home in Anegundi near Hampi

about

Just about 2 km from Hampi, the small village of Anegundi has some lovely heritage houses that have been restored. This is a project supported by UNESCO.

Recently restored this is the ancestral house of the accountants of the Anegundi Kingdom. The owners descendants from the family of accountants lived here till the mid-nineties. The building which is built in the traditional style dating back to the 1500's had been lying vacant for a decade or so before it was restored. Now, it serves as a neat and clean guesthouse to visitors wanting to visit Hampi.

There are no air-conditioners and it can get pretty hot in the summers but the authentic ambiance makes it all worthwhile when visiting the historic city of Hampi. Guests can hire a bicycle, a motorbike or a car for the day for local travel. Guests travelling by their own vehicle will have to pay Rs. 10 to the panchayat per vehicle per day.

guest review - 1 reviews
We upgraded our rooms from the homestay option to regular rooms. The experience was good, with clean rooms and good food. The service was also friendly. We enjoyed the Hampi sightseeing with Kumar as our guide.
